by | Dec 6, 2024 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

While some of us gladly volunteer to host gatherings, parties, and holiday festivities, for others, the sheer idea of it causes instant stress! Whether you’re a seasoned host or new to the entertaining world, there’s always room to up your game. So, if you want to impress your guests and make your next holiday get-together unforgettable, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to make it stress-free and full-on elevated. Let’s get into it!

Cooking & Prepping Like a Pro

Let’s start with what matters most… the food! The 2 secrets to stress-free cooking? Prepping ahead and having the right gear.

When it comes to prepping ahead, you have to, of course, first choose the dishes you will make. People will always need something to snack on while arriving and mingling, so a couple of appetizers is always recommended! It can be something as simple as quality bread and dipping oil. You’ll also want to choose a main dish and one to two sides (I think a delicious salad is always a great and simple side option). Dessert is not required but highly encouraged and appreciated!

Pro Tip: Choose recipes that you have made before! If you’ve never made the recipe, I highly recommend doing a test run before gathering.

Another part of prepping ahead is cooking or prepping as much as you can, either the night before or the morning of the event. Some dishes won’t allow for full cooking ahead, but if there is any component that can at least be prepped, do that! It also helps to set out everything you need, including the table settings and serving dishes you plan to use (more on this soon).

Now, for the right gear. This is where Caraway’s Cookware Set comes in. First, I love that it’s 100% non-toxic—that is a non-negotiable for me! Second, the quality is unmatched, and the food doesn’t stick, making it easy to cook with and especially easy to clean.

Need to make a big pot of soup or roast a turkey? Grab the Dutch Oven or Sauté Pan—they’re perfect for those larger dishes. The Fry Pan and Sauce Pan are your best friends for appetizers, sides, or anything small. And don’t even get me started on their Baking Sheets! I use them for everything from roasting veggies to baking cookies. I love Caraway’s Large Baking Sheet because it’s one of the biggest I have been able to find—perfect for making sheet pan meals or a large batch of anything.

Setting the Vibe

This is honestly my favorite part because I am a sucker for the aesthetic. Aside from visual appeal, the vibe sets the tone and shifts the energy. But the good news is, with Caraway’s cookware, you don’t need fancy centerpieces or over-the-top decorations to make your table shine. Because their pieces are designed with beauty in mind, they can go straight from stove or oven to table and still look elegant. It’s like your cookware doubles as part of your tablescape—talk about multitasking! These pots, pans, and baking sheets will fit right in for a sleek, modern look or a cozy, festive vibe. You can also further elevate the look by investing in a couple of beautiful serving platters or fun cocktail and wine glasses. Right now, I love etched cocktail glasses and color-tinted wine glasses! Set the table with some cute place mats or chargers and fabric napkins.

Pro Tip: Don’t want to invest in serving dishes and glasses? Use what you have and simply add a table runner or cheese cloth runner and a few candles! Which brings me to my next vibe tip…

Set the mood! Lighting and floral are two easy ways to dramatically change the space. I advise no overhead lights, dim lights and lamps only. Light some candles, including some tall tapered candles in cute candle holders as your table centerpiece. When it comes to florals, fill a few vases with your own arrangement of greenery and flowers. Greenery is typically the most cost effective! You may do primarily greenery and just one bouquet of flowers to mix in.

Cleaning Up: A Total Breeze

Let’s be real—cleaning up is the part of hosting that no one looks forward to. After serving up a delicious meal, the last thing you want is to spend the rest of the night scrubbing stubborn pots and pans. But here’s the good news: Caraway has your back! Thanks to their non-stick ceramic coating, cleanup is ridiculously easy. A quick wipe, and you’re done. No elbow grease needed!

Less time at the sink means more time to kick back with your guests—or sneak back for seconds on dessert. (Because, let’s be honest, who can resist?)

Ready, Set, Host!

From prepping to cooking to setting the mood, having the right tools and a few tricks up your sleeve are all you need to make your holiday gatherings a breeze. Whether you’re hosting your annual Friendsgiving, planning a New Year’s Eve soiree, or kicking off a new holiday tradition, I hope these tips help you plan your best get-together yet!

Happy hosting!
